I first got to know Happy Child in 1999, through my husband Geraldo. Together we have been serving this Ministry for eight years, learning, growing, often tested but also seeing many victories. God has always shown his faithfulness and that He is in charge of all things.
I couldn’t imagine how it would be to work with children like ours, discriminated against, destroyed, without hope, without love, with many losses, bitter, and without a future. In my heart there was a huge desire to be part of changing the story of these children’s lives.
I began helping just as a volunteer at weekends and then I did the Happy Child training course. Eventually I came to work full time with Happy Child. I left my family home to live with the children on our Farm. Shortly afterwards I moved on and have worked in Casa Emaus, our 24 hour emergency shelter ever since. Despite all the challenges I have faced there have been many successes. I know that I have been used as an agent of change in the lives of these little ones.
