My name is Rosalina Torres and I joined the Happy Child team in 2004. I am from Paraiba state in the North East of Brazil.
The concept I have of Happy Child is that it is character-forming for every person involved in the work.
Part of my work as a Social Assistant is to help channel children and young people back into their families of origin. Once a month I visit all the famlies of the children we are caring for. We try to support their famlies as best we can practically, emotionally and spiritually.. When a child cannot return to his or her family we aim for national or international adoption. When a child is adopted it is a tremendous victory not only for the children but for us as well.
These children have been robbed of their childhood and normal life. Like a battalion we advance on their behalf, united and with perseverance, to give them a better future.
