Happy Child's  Fundraising Walk 2022

Last year our Happy Child walk raised funds to feed vulnerable families in fragile communities in Recife, North East Brazil.  This region is most affected with food insecurity, mainly due to the long periods of drought, fragile livilhoods, coupled with emergency aid cuts, which have affected 22 million more people living in poverty in Brazil, particularly in the North East.   Post Pandemic the crisis in Brazil continues and we want to continue to mobilise fundraising initiatives in 2022.

This year our Happy Child Walk is raising funds to feed vulnerable families in fragile communities in Recife, North East Brazil.  This region is most affected with food insecurity, mainly due to the long periods of drought, fragile livelihoods, coupled with emergency aid cuts have which have affected 22 million more people living in poverty in Brazil, particularly in the North East.  Children and young people are the hidden victims of the Covid-19 pandemic and most likely to suffer from malnutrition at home.   The rise in hunger during the pandemic isn’t because of the virus but much more about negative political choices and the stark absence of effective social protection policies. Their family units face the challenge of reduced income into the home because of loss of employment, the rising cost of basic food items and a reduction in emergency help from government.  Can you help us respond to a crisis that is affecting thousands of children and young people all over the country?
