Fundraising Walk 2022
Happy Child International's walk on Saturday 2nd July was a real success.
The weather was lovely, not too hot and not too cold. We were 17 walkers altogether on the day and motivated by the thought of raising funds for vulnerable children and young people in Recife, Northeast Brazil.
It was fun to walk with others, to be in such beautiful surroundings in the London heaths and parks.
Between us we were able to raise £2,356.15 including the Gift Aid.
We as a team have been so encouraged by the support and collaboration of our loyal friends and supporters.
Thank you all so much for giving your time and energy to us on what was a really special day for us as a charity.

This year the funds raised will go towards the Mentoring and Skills Training Programme run by our
church-based partner Instituto Solidare. It provides vulnerable young people (16 to 18 year olds)
from fragile communities, in Recife, Northeast Brazil with the vital skills they need to enter the job
market.
Recently the community and the church where the mentoring and training programme
takes place was badly hit by torrential rain and the whole area was severely flooded. 1,500 families
lost almost everything they had and the lives of 9000 individual people were affected by the
devastation of the floods. Instituto Solidare have done everything they can to respond to the crisis
in their local community.
It is more important than ever that this year our Happy Child International Summer Fundraising Walk raises as much as possible so that we can support our partners at this
unexpected time of crisis.
How can you get involved?
If you and your friends and family would like to join us on the walk, these are the ways that you can raise funds for our important work.
