Helping to raise the profile of Happy Child International’s important work

Writer: HAPPY CHILD INTERNATIONALHAPPY CHILD INTERNATIONAL

On Sunday May 19th 2024 at St Francis Church, Petts Wood, the Chairman of the Happy Child International Board, John Doddrell, shared a very personal story on how he and his wife Dilsa, who is the Patron of the charity in Brazil, first became involved 10 years ago.

Together and over the years they have made significant contributions to the charity:  raising its profile, bringing in new supporters, helping us source new partnerships in Recife, Northeast Brazil and regularly organising and hosting events on our behalf. They both support the charity with huge enthusiasm and zeal.

As he presented John explained some of the challenges and struggles that the children and young people in our partner projects face.  He told moving stories about some of the lives that are being touched through the work. The presentation gave a good insight into the range of  educational initiatives the projects are delivering and how they are creating opportunities for children and young people from low income communities to head towards a better future.

Today we are posting a video of John’s talk for you to be inspired about Happy Child International’s work

Here at Happy Child International we are always keen to present the work of the charity to a wider audience.  Presentations raise the profile of our work and inform people about the reality of vulnerable children and young people in Recife, Northeast Brazil.

If you would like to play an active role in supporting us and present our work to others then please contact caroline.taylor@happychild.org   We are keen to share Happy Child International’s vision  to create “A world where every child and young person realises their full potential in a safe and secure environment”
