A New Year and Some Exciting Changes

Dear Friends,

At the start of 2026 Happy Child International continues its mission to serve children and young people at risk in Recife, Northeast Brazil. We want to thank all our supporters for being faithful to us and helping us to deliver this important work.

This year after much consideration and reflection I am stepping down from my role as Head of Operations of Happy Child International. After serving for over thirty years I received my MBE last July. From March 2026 I will take on a more Ambassadorial role and in a voluntary capacity so as to continue supporting this vital work.

My love for the charity will always be there and it has been the privilege of my life not only to work with such a dedicated Board and team, both in the UK and in Brazil, but also to witness the transformation of so many lives over the last 32 years.   What an amazing journey it has been.

In our next communication we will update you about the person who will be the next Head of Operations for Happy Child International. We all look forward immensely to welcoming her and telling you more about her.
