On Saturday 11th July, a group of 15 walkers from Petts Wood Methodist Church and other friends completed a walk in the Kent countryside to raise funds for Happy Child’s vital work with vulnerable children in and around Recife, north-east Brazil.
Because of the heat, we were limited to a shorter walk in the morning only, but we all enjoyed a 3 mile walk in the North Downs from the village of Kemsing with magnificent views across the Weald of Kent.
A small group of strong walkers managed to complete a further 7 miles in the afternoon, while the rest of us plan to return in the autumn to complete the longer walk.
Donations so far received or promised are already over £1,500 and funds are still coming in! A big “Thank You” to all who walked or sponsored us.
The Happy Child Walk 2026 may be over, but its impact continues. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal of providing a brighter future for vulnerable children. If you would like to be part of this transformation, there is still time to donate. Together, we can continue bringing hope, love, and opportunities to those who need them most.
